Hitler s Influence On The World - 946 Words

The world would be different today if not for one very important leader of Germany. â€Å"[Hitler] had more impact on the history of the world in the 20th century than any other political figure.† (Noakes, 1) Considered one of the cruelest men of the 1900’s, Adolf Hitler was also one of the greatest leaders. As a young boy, Hitler was always interested in war and when he was old enough, he went to serve his country in World War I. While in recovery after being wounded, Hitler heard that Germany surrendered and he was infuriated. He became the leader of the German Worker’s Party but changed the name to the Nazi’s. His public speeches gained many followers, money and attention. The Unemployment Reli ef Act was responsible for building new hospitals and the Autobahn. The Autobahn is a super highway in Germany that Hitler had built manually so more workers were needed for a longer period of time. The National Labor Service was another act that gave more jobs. In the National Labor Service, all men in Germany, aged 18-25, went to a six month training camp before becoming a soldier for at least two years (bbc.co.uk) They were paid pocket money and by 1939, there were over one million soldiers in the German Army. With the help of Hitler, the unemployment rate dropped from six million, in 1933, to less than one million in 1938. (Simkin) Germany’s economy was finally getting better with the unemployment rate drastically decreasing. Hitler implemented cultural and social reform in Germany. Hitler was responsible for the banning of vivisection in Germany, which is the experimenting or operating on a living animal for a scientific study (Word Central). He helped small businesses prosper by banning supermarkets. Hitler encouraged healthy youth activities and social programmes, such as sports, to amplify cultural pride and help boost people’s self-esteem. Hitler helped the people in Germany with
